Ewan Campbell

Ewan Campbell's compositional interests include the adaptation of electronic and everyday sounds into instrumental and vocal music, and the development of non-linear musical structures. He works as a composer, performer (cello and double bass), conductor and educator, and recently completed a composition PhD under the tutelage of George Benjamin and Silvina Milstein.
His music has been performed by many ensembles including: The Britten Sinfonia, the Mercury Quartet and recorder quintet Consortium5, and Ewan was Composer in Residence for the Cambridge University Music Society for the 2012-13 season. He has been an award winner of several national and international competitions, the most recent of which was the Italian Mare Nostrum International Competition in 2012, which lead to the publication of his piece for solo recorder in Italy by Edizioni Sconifinarte, and a recording released with the Retropalco label.
